Coffee with Cops and Local Priorities. |

|
Today, I had the pleasure of hosting a "Coffee with a Copper" session at Costa Coffee Shop. It was great to chat with a community member, a very friendly gentleman who shared quite positive feedback about the police presence in our neighborhood. However, he also expressed concern regarding groups of young people who occasionally smoke cannabis in the Wallington Library garden. We take these reports of antisocial behavior seriously, and this location is included in our patrol plans as a hot-spot area. I also met with one of the dedicated members of our Community Watch Network, who frequently contributes here on Met Engage. He shared details of a recent incident at a drug store in Wallington that had not yet been reported to the police. In order for us to act effectively and build an accurate picture of crime in our neighborhood, all incidents must be officially reported. While we value your updates on Met Engage, this platform is for community interaction and not a reporting tool. If you witness a crime or become aware of an unreported incident, please use the following official channels: Use the Metropolitan Police Reporting Tool for non-emergency situations. Call 101 and 999 in case of emergency or if a crime is in progress. Call anonymously on 0800 555 111. Reports ensure continuity and provide the necessary information to bring cases to court and allocate resources where they are most needed. Thank you for your continued support in making Wallington a safer place. Rosie Scadden Wallington Safe Neighborhood Team.
